Chiefs Pro Bowl Tight End Tony Gonzalez isn't happy with his 8 All-Pro nominations.
No he's not going to try out for the NBA again, though he probably still could. The former Co-Orange County High School Athlete of the year (Basketball, Baseball, and Football) tacked another accomplishment onto his resume...Saving Lives.
Last Thursday Gonzalez and family were enjoying a nice meal at Capone's Restaurant in Huntington Beach when 45 year old resident Ken Hunter took off a little more than he could chew. He tried to swallow, no go. Tried to drink water, started to turn blue. Everyone froze and watched the man taking what could possibly be his last breaths while chewing on some veal scaloppine.
The aforementioned All-Pro Gonzalez jumped up and gave Mr. Hunter a great big NFL hug. The piece of meat popped out to the enjoyment of all watching, but not doing anything.
Tony Gonzalez has always been one of my favorite guys in the NFL. I've never seen him being chased down for child support, making it rain, DUI/DWI, beating his pregnant wife, like so many other NFL-ers. A true BearDown Applause goes out to Tony. Especially when no one else was doing anything, he stepped up. Way to go Mr. Gonzalez.
