Goose in Hall, Hawk in Wait

49 votes short this year. Hawk finished with 65.9% this year. He's got 8 more chances, but based on past trends won't make it next year with Rickey Henderson guaranteeing to "steal" the spotlight, as will other newcomers Mark Grace and Mo Vaughn. Also grabbing attention will be Jim Rice in his 15th and final year (16 votes shy this year). The 2010 ballot might just be the one to get him over the top. There is however a chance that he could piggyback on Grace's Hall attempt next year, and there is a chance that 2009 will mean Mark Grace, Andre Dawson, and Ron Santo (veteran's) all going into their deserved place in the Hall.
